Do you feel like you're successful on paper but still feel empty inside? Maybe you've even achieved the goals you thought would make you feel successful. You have the good job, the nice house, the loving relationship, but you still feel like something's missing. If you're the type of person that just goes through the motions each day and and you find yourself wondering if this is all there is, there isn't something wrong with you.

You aren't broken. There is a reason that achievement without fulfillment is a modern epidemic. I'll share this reason and also teach you the ancient wisdom technique that reconnects you to your true purpose in just 20 minutes a day.

You can have everything you thought you wanted and still feel empty because you accidentally went after the things that don't really matter to you and certainly didn't actually bring fulfillment. Hear me when I say it is possible to have success and fulfillment without feeling empty.

Let me tell you a story that outlines this point. One of my clients, Rachel, was a corporate lawyer making over $300,000 a year who first came to me because she was crying in her car every morning before work. She had everything she thought she wanted, including a successful job, plenty of money and all the trimmings of a full life.

But she felt completely dead inside. To support Rachel, to realign herself and align with her true purpose, I taught her the Purpose Alignment Process. This process can work for you too. Step one of the Purpose Alignment Process is to create vision.

It's imperative to take some time to really get clear on your vision for life before making any drastic changes in your life like quitting your job. I supported Rachel to name the type of life she wanted, beginning with how she wanted to feel.

Rachel realized she had been living her parents dream of being a, high powered attorney, not her own. She became a lawyer because it was prestigious and financially secure, but it drained her soul every day. She wanted to feel impactful and influential.

I had Rachel write down her vision, starting with how she wanted to feel, followed by the things she wanted to be doing and finally the things she wanted to have in life. The next step is to reconnect with your essence. I had Rachel go back in time, where she remembered feeling truly happy and empowered.

She remembered herself at age 7, when she would spend hours writing stories and putting on plays for her stuffed animals. Rachel realized her essence was creative expression. The next step in the purpose alignment process is to find the intersection.

We looked for ways Rachel could use her legal skills in service of something that mattered to her. She discovered a passion for helping artists protect their intellectual property. Then step four in the process is to take aligned action.

Once Rachel was clear on her vision and understood the essence of what was important to her creativity and contribution, she started volunteering with nonprofit arts organizations on weekends. She felt more alive in those few hours than she had in years at her corporate job.

And then finally, step five is commit to the vision. Instead of quitting her job immediately, Rachel began to focus on the way she wanted to feel and brought that emotion to her corporate job. Instead of crying in the car, she focused on bringing creativity and empowerment to her clients.

She looked for ways she could be more involved in helping artists protect their IP and gain significant experience in entertainment law. Even though she still worked long hours, she made her vision of feeling empowered and creative paramount. And she eventually was promoted to run her own entertainment part of the law firm, which was vision fulfilled for Rachel.

Look, here's what Rachel discovered. Purpose isn't something you find out there. It's something you create from the inside out. She realized that having a clear vision was what allowed her to make aligned choices and ultimately create the experience in her career that she really wanted.
