Did you essentially wake up today knowing exactly where you were going? Let me explain what I mean by this. Most people, when they wake up, they kind of barely roll out of bed. They stumble to the kitchen, maybe they get their coffee, they kind of sip on that for a minute, and then they kind of go through their morning routine and then they kind of, you know, eventually get to work.

And they're probably half asleep once they get to work because, you know, they barely got there on time and that kind of thing. And this is not going to create performance. Like, you are not going to become the best version of yourself this way. You are not going to achieve at the highest levels if this is the way in which you're going into your day.

The very first thing that should happen every single day is upon waking before you get out of your bed, you should have occurred to the mind exactly where you're going to be, say, a year from today, five years from today. What is the vision for the life in which you hold for yourself? And we must start waking up to that every single morning. It's not a hard thing to do. You can literally just write a few bullet points down.

Here's where I want to be in a year. Here's where, you know, I want to want to be this level of fitness. I'd like to have this many people in my life, I'd like my friendships to be here. I want to make this amount of money, I want to live here, I want to take these trips. Like, it literally doesn't matter what it is.

The only way to do vision wrong is not have one. The only way to mess vision up is to not have a clear sense of where it is you want to end up and where it is you're going that day. And the only way to know where you're going every day is you have to wake up to it and teach yourself to do that. We have to train the mind to wake up to where are we going today? And so ask yourself that question, in a year, what do I want my life to look like?

I know this sounds basic, I know this sounds simple, and you're probably like, white noising me right now. You're like, oh, God, another dude talking about vision. But here's the fact:  you don't have one.
