You may have recently found yourself not feeling great physically. Maybe you. You feel sick, or maybe you have an autoimmune condition or, you know, something's going on with the body and you're just not feeling great or you're in those years where it's like, man, things are shifting with the body. Things are changing. I don't have the energy I once had.
I got extra aches and pains. I got stuff going on. And you might notice that you're in conflict with, you know, how do I. How do I feel good, even though the body is not in a great position? Like, how do I be happy? How do I know joy? How can I find peace?
How can I be expected to be emotionally vibrant despite the condition of the body? And the reality is, it's the first step to being vibrant emotionally, regardless of the condition in the body is the decision to do so.
And to make the delineation that sensations in the body are separate from emotions that you may be feeling, that these are two distinct and different realities, or at least they can be. I can have back pain.
I can, you know, be I could have the flu. I could have an autoimmune condition. I could have all these ailments going on with the body. But my My psychology, my mindset can still be, Give me access to fulfillment or joy or peace or happiness or love and connection.
You know, I don't have to be defined by the sensations in the body. So the first step is the decision to not be defined by whatever sensations or condition in the body exists now. Now, I'm not saying that it's not more challenging to feel peaceful or joyful or happy when the body is struggling like it is a Lot easier to feel good emotionally when the body also feels good, for sure.
But emotional resilience is a skill, is a capacity that anybody can train if they choose to do it, if they're willing to develop the ability. And the byproduct of, of emotional resilience is a much more fulfilled life, but also an edge on being able to create the results and the outcomes that you want to create in your life that a lot of people don't possess or have, especially today.
And so emotional resilience is simply, man, can I feel good emotionally despite challenges that I'm facing. And, you know, sometimes it can even be helpful to recall or remember or go, you know, look somebody up, which is not hard to do today, whom is facing far greater physical challenges than you or I.
And yet they still have this great attitude. They're clearly joyful, they're inspired, they're showing up joyful every day. And it's like, I've met so many people who've had accidents and they've lost their legs or they lost an arm or they have a debilitating illness that, that they were born into or born with based on their genetics.
And it's like they struggle with things that the average person does not struggle with day after day after day. And oftentimes it even shortens the span of their life. And they know, man, I've only got three years, whereas other people get to have 30, 40, 50 years from the age in which they are.
And so it's like, man, how do those individuals, when faced with the greatest challenges, still sometimes have such a beautiful state, such a expanded sense of themselves? And the biggest reason is despite the challenge they were faced with, they made the decision, I'm going to be joyful despite my current condition.
I'm going to be fulfilled. I'm going to be positive, I'm going to be optimistic. I'm going to love the people in my life. I'm going to connect with them despite the physical challenges I may be going through. And so the first step is accepting that it's possible and being willing to commit to doing it. And then from there, start making the distinction.
The body feels X. I'm going to choose to be joyful. The body is in this discomfort. I'm going to choose to be joyful despite that discomfort. I'm going to be loving despite the discomfort. I'm going to feel peace despite the discomfort and start making the distinction between the two.
The body's sensations from the emotion that I'm feeling. When we start to make that distinction, we'll start to see how we can create a vibrant emotional experience within ourself despite the current conditions in the body. And you'll notice that this will be very, very empowering and actually then can also be leveraged to create greater health and vitality because you've got a much better shot at improving your physical condition regardless of what's going on, if you're doing it from an inspired place, from an empowered place, from a place of confidence, from a place of joy, than if we're, you know, trying to kind of work against ourself Double fold.
One, the body doesn't feel great and then we also feel depressed, we're also sad, or we're also angry and we're also resentful. And now it's like, man, we're really lifting extra weight relative to trying to produce and change our circumstance if we're also battling with the emotion on top of the physical discomfort.
And so in many ways, accessing that more expanded emotional state and greater sense of well being despite the physical challenges can be such a huge and beneficial step if we learn how to do that, toward bettering our health and creating the outcome that you ultimately aspire to.
And so if you find yourself get caught there sometimes, like I can't possibly, you know, be emotionally vibrant when my, when my body's not working out for me, when I'm in a lot of discomfort or you know, there's a lot of struggle going on physically, you know, give yourself permission to shift the way you're relating to the space and that's going to be such a huge step forward, not just to solving for potentially the physical challenges you have going on, but to make sure that you better the quality of your life today.
No matter what happens with the body, you don't miss out on life. And so I hope this is helpful for you and look forward to seeing you soon.
